Masterclass in Audio Technology Offers Essential Skills for Job Opportunities in Uganda

November 10, 2025 — Aspiring sound engineers, AV technicians, event staff, and content creators in Uganda now have a timely opportunity to elevate their skills with the upcoming Audio Tech Essentials Masterclass, put together by Global Institute of Information Technology and Business, Makerere.

Led by a seasoned German sound tech veteran with decades of practical experience, this five-day training is designed to provide participants with foundational and advanced knowledge of PA and studio audio systems.

Scheduled for November 17th to 21st, 2025, the on-site course covers a wide spectrum of critical topics, including signal flow, speaker systems, and microphones, amplifiers, mixing consoles, audio interfaces, and troubleshooting. The training will be held at the main campus on Haruna Towers in Wandegeya Kubbiri

Participants will learn how to set up and operate professional audio equipment confidently—skills essential for delivering quality services in a competitive industry.

Director Ben Opolot said: "There is a great need for these skills in Uganda, where the demand for professional audio setup and services is rising rapidly. Yet, the industry is often left in the hands of amateurs, which results in poor service delivery and damage to expensive equipment."

He emphasizes that the training was carefully crafted as part of a broader strategic effort to contribute to the national economy by equipping young professionals with rare, valuable, and highly in-demand skills.

"Our goal is to enhance employability, ensure quality service delivery, and create opportunities for economic growth. We believe this training will bridge the gap between industry need and skill availability," the director added.

The course is suitable for beginners, AV techs, event staff, and content creators, offering practical, real-world knowledge for just UGX 500,000. Attendees will receive a certification upon completion, boosting their confidence and earning potential.

In Uganda, the lack of formal training in audio technology often leads to substandard services and costly damage to equipment. By providing specialized training, this masterclass aims to uplift the industry standards and create a pool of skilled professionals equipped to meet the country's growing demand for quality audio services.

Seats are limited. For registration and more information, visit our website www.giit.ac.ug, or contact us directly on 0776 945 602.
