Examinations news, updates and dates at Gi-IT
Global Institute of Information Technology and Business (Gi-IT) informs all students that the upcoming examinations schedule has been released. Learners are encouraged to check the official notice boards and online platforms for detailed timetables, venues, and guidelines. Continuous updates will be provided to ensure students are well-prepared and informed ahead of the examination period.
At Gi-IT, we are committed to maintaining high academic standards through a structured assessment system that prepares our students for national certification and professional excellence.
Dual Examination System
All Diploma and National Certificate students at Gi-IT are assessed through two key types of examinations:
- Internal Examinations
- These are conducted at the end of every semester. Our internal exams play a crucial role in a student’s academic progression. Successful performance in these exams qualifies a student to advance to the next semester. Additionally, internal assessments contribute 40% of the final score required in the national examinations.
- National Examinations (UVTAB)
- The Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) oversees the national examinations. These exams account for the remaining 60% of the final score. At Gi-IT, we align our internal assessments with national standards to ensure our students are well-prepared.
National Examination Series
National exams are conducted in three major series throughout the year:
- May/June Series
- This series examines all Technical, Vocational, and Business Diplomas, as well as Certificates in Business courses.
- July/August Series
- Dedicated to Certificate and UCPC programs in Vocational and Technical fields, specifically for students in their 1st or 3rd semesters.
- November/December Series
- This is the most comprehensive series, covering all Certificate and Diploma programs across all fields and levels.
Recent & Upcoming Updates
We are pleased to announce that the July/August examination series was successfully completed on August 22. We now await results and have begun preparations for the upcoming November/December examinations, which will engage students from all programs.
